Kashmiri prisoners belong to respectable families with reputed background : DFP

Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has expressed grave concern on the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing across all the jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir including its incarcerated chief, Shabir Shah imprisoned in Tihar jail Delhi.
JKDFP Spokesperson said that it is unfortunate that political prisoners of Kashmir are treated like professional criminals in different jails and the jails have been turned into worst centers of interrogation.
The Spokesperson said it is unfortunate that world famous resistance leader Shabir Shah has been kept in solitary confinement in a small unhygienic cell of Tiharj jail. He is continuously denied suitable medical treatment despite being suffering from many serious ailments. The courts are also feeling helpless in this regard as their orders are not being implemented.
While referring to all other political prisoners of Kashmir, the JKDFP Spokesperson added that they face the wrath of the jail authorities every now and then. They are treated as slaves, causing indelible prints of degradation and humiliation on their minds.

War is not an option: Freedom Party

Srinagar, Sep 24 : War is not an option to resolve disputes. This was stated by Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) while commenting on the latest statements of India and Pakistan.
That disputes are resolved amicably and not by issuing threatening statements which add to the problems for ordinary people.
The JKDFP Spokesperson said that New Delhi must understand the fact that Kashmir dispute is the only cause of confrontation in the subcontinent. It has so far swallowed lakhs of human souls, and it is the main reason that world powers get a chance to interfere in the regional matters.
It is again the long pending Kashmir dispute which has led to a race of collecting weapons and the countries involved spend huge wealth on weapons instead of upliftment of the poor. Since the countries involved are fully aware bout the destructions of a war however especially New Delhi is creating a situation by its statements only to achieve political mileage.
New Delhi has used every imperialistic measure to silent the Kashmiri people who are fighting for their genuine political rights however they time and again raise their voice whenever they get a chance.
It is high time for New Delhi to release all political prisoners like JKDFP chief Shabir Shah and create such a situation which can help in resolving the Kashmir dispute amicably.

APHC condemns use of force against Muharam procession in Valley

SRINAGAR, SEP 19 : All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly denounced the imposition of curbs in the city centre Lal Chowk and majority of parts Srinagar to foil Muharram processions and use of force on mourners besides blocking all routes even those leading to hospitals terming it as the direct inference in the religious affairs. The Hurriyat strongly condemned the use of force on mourners, thrashing and detaining them as ultimate highandednes by the authorities.

The Hurriyat said that it has been the age old practice across Kashmir that on 8th and 10th of Muharram, huge processions used to take out from various parts of Srinagar and other parts of the valley to pay rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain ( AS) and his companions who were martyred in Karbala. However over the past three decades , the rulers have been disallowing these processions and using brute force against the mourners which is highly condemnable. The Hurriyat said the government’s practice of foiling Muharram processions is totally undemocratic.

The Hurriyat said that the government has already been trampling the social and political rights of people of Kashmiris and now same force is being used to muzzle the religious practices which is not only unfortunate but deserves all forms of condemnation.

The Hurriyat strongly condemned the continuous arrest of a Kashmiri nursing student Muhammad Iqbal who was arrested at Khabar Kotli Jammu stating that his family is not being provided information about their son which has added to their worry.

The Hurriyat also expressed deep shock and grief over the mysterious murder of a minor boy of Basarbugh, Ganderbal whose body was found in an orchard and demanded that those behind this gruesome killing must be given an exemplary punishment.

Muslims of Kashmir are not being allowed to perform their religious activities : DFP

Srinagar, Sep 19 : Terming the banning of Muharram processions in Srinagar, as undemocratic and imposition of curfew like restrictions as barbaric acts of the so called administration, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) today said that even religious rights of the people of Kashmir are being violated to make them surrender.
Strongly condemning the banning of Muharram processions, the JKDFP Spokesperson said , that it is unfortunate that Muslims of Kashmir are not being allowed to perform their religious activities. Kashmiri people are not against any particular religion or faith but it is sheer discrimination on part of the administration that they provide security to the activities of a particular religion and out rightly ban the other.
The JKDFP Spokesperson appealed United Nations Human Rights Council, which is in Session at Geneva to look into the serious situation of Kashmir where people are being caged only for their affiliation with a particular faith. This is done by a country which claims to be the “world’s largest democracy”. Unfortunately world is tight lipped over the plight of Kashmiri people who are suffering from India and that has made it more arrogant.
The Spokesperson strongly condemned the caging of the people of Srinagar by imposing curfew like restrictions on their movement. It has become a norm in the lawless land of Kashmir to impose curbs on the people’s movement. Such acts are aimed at passing on a message that people cannot fight the large military might of India however the continuous resistance of people and their steadfastness despite every oppression and suppression of India has made it clear many a times that Kashmiri people will not rest unless they achieve their cherished goal of freedom for which they are continuously sacrificing their lives and remain in far off jails.
